[With apologies to fellow Brookynite, Neil Diamond.]
Is anyone going to one of Saint Carl's "town halls" tomorrow?
Santa Monica (8:30 a.m.); Huntington Beach (12:00 p.m.); San Diego (4 p.m.)
Saint Carl is calling himself the "proponent." A proponent is defined as the person or persons filing a voter-initiative. To date, he hasn't filed anything. He has repeatedly stated that he won't file anything until his self-imposed deadline of August 31, 2025. He has two built-in excuses for backing out of his scheme: 1) people didn't donate enough to reach his $3 million goal; and/or 2) fewer than 10,000 (or 20,000, depending on which version of the goal you get) people volunteered to gather signatures.
With the Saint will be his heavenly choir of "angels" -- Scott Pressler, [SM] Roxanne Beckford Hoge (Chair, Los Angeles GOP), [HB] State Rep. Diane Dixon (R-Orange Co.), [HB] State Sen. Tony Strickland (R-Orange Co.), and [SD] Jim Desmond (San Diego Co. Supervisor).
Does anyone have the guts to point blank ask him the question: "Where is the text of the proposed initiative?"
When he says, his lawyers are putting the finishing touches on it or other such manure, will that person follow up with a logical question? For example, "Who are your lawyers?" and "On what date will you post the language for the public?"
If the Saint schmoozes out of (he's more slippery than an eel) the questions, will anyone ask each of his "angels" if they have actually seen and read the text (or a draft) of the proposed initiative that they are standing up there promoting?
The Saint has filed two statewide voter-initiatives that include something he describes as voter ID -- one in 2021 [California Election Integrity Initiative (21-0033)] and one in 2023 [California Election Integrity Initiative (23-0016)]. They are nearly identical to one another consisting of four pathetically-worded paragraphs. Remember, this garbage would have been added to the constitution and virtually impossible to change. Note that the second paragraph even gives deference to "federal law," which makes the people of California vassals to their lords in D.C. We guess that "election integrity" has lost its appeal, so now it's "voter ID." It's easier for people to conjure up. And just wait until "government-issued identification card" becomes mandatory "REAL ID" or the latest and greatest biometric concoction that private companies are selling to their government customers. We're way beyond "1984" and "Brave New World" already. The only oxen that will ever get gored are us, the people.
Each of these previous attempts do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. There are no directives (required by law to authorize an official to act) to any public officials. There are no sanctions for failure to comply. We suspect that the Saint will simply recycle one of these previous filings.
Note that it's really important for the Saint to fit the petition on one page. That will mean any money donated or time spent on getting the Saint's voter-initiative on the ballot will be completely wasted.
The Saint is not alone in his stinginess. Saint Jon is also a cheapskate when it comes to "saving" us. See the official public comment for Saint Jon's "Save Proposition 13 Act of 2026."
If you feel really courageous, ask each of his "angels" if they are receiving any form of compensation (in-kind or cash) or reimbursement for their appearance or participation?
If you really want to put Saint Carl on the spot, ask him about where all the money he raises goes. This is what he has stated publicly, right after his election to the Assembly last November.
"Because of state campaign finance rules, Reform California is now a project of Carl DeMaio's candidate committee - Carl DeMaio for State Assembly. DeMaio's candidate committee covers the cost of all Reform California operations. A separate ballot measure committee - called Reform California with Carl DeMaio - raises and spends funds on ballot measure campaigns."
And if you're skeptical or suffering from cognitive dissonance, here's the Saint's game plan, in his own words. CA Voter ID Initiative Faces Go/No Go Decision for 2024 – Here’s How To Help November 2, 2023. And if you don't remember how that turned out, it was a "No Go."
And don't worry, if the Saint takes that page down, The Wayback Machine has several copies going back to November 30, 2023. (Could it be that others don't trust his Saintliness either?
Have fun on No Kings Day! There's plenty to do here in California. You can rally or riot ("peacefully protest") or confront the opposition. Just don't do anything foolish, like getting yourself killed. No matter what the shills for the New World Order say, they're hoping for another Kent State ("[Four Dead in] Ohio") and California is the most likely place for that to happen.
A word to the wise. If you do attend a public event, don't bring your spy phone with you. We know, that's so inconvenient. We're sure that's what all the people who went to Washington, D.C. on January 6, 2021 thought too.
Happy Father's Day!
